DALNET Upgrades to Horizon 7.51a and HIP 3.21a
The end of July saw the implementation of
DALNET's long awaited upgrade to the newest version of Horizon and
HIP. The greatest gain in this upgrade is the update of much of
the Horizon infrastructure, including an updated server operating
system, implementation of the latest Sybase databases software,
and Horizon compatibility for Windows 7 (also backwards compatible to
Windows XP and Vista). On the public side, the new catalogs have
the ability to search all DALNET shared-system library collections in
each catalog.
Some additional post-upgrade tasks will be guided by the DALNET office
this month. The office will also be focusing on completion of the
Authority File project that was started earlier in the summer. In
September/October members can plan on the launch of the new
BookMyne mobile
app for our catalogs.
Registration
is now open for the post-upgrade training day on Monday, August
15. Participants will
be introduced to new features, options, and staff client changes in
this overview of Horizon 7.5.1a.
