DALNET, the Detroit Area Library Network, is a community of libraries and librarians working together to provide exemplary services. Hosted at Wayne State University since 1985, DALNET includes academic, public, government, law, medical, museum, and special libraries. DALNET members collectively serve a region with four million people, who comprise more than half of Michigan’s total population. DALNET is governed by a Board of Directors, comprised of representatives from all members. DALNET members collaborate to deliver comprehensive services and leverage the diverse strengths of their libraries by developing innovative, cooperative strategies that facilitate learning and knowledge. DALNET personnel are committed to serving the members.
Goal 1: User Support Use library technologies to help people find the best information possible. Goal 2: Resource Sharing Devise creative strategies for enhancing and expanding information. Goal 3: Member Support Encourage personal and professional development through continuing education, networking, consulting, and collaborative projects.
