forward to offering new services and adopting new systems.
DALNET Executive Director, Steven K. Bowers, delivered a
presentation about new Library Services Platforms, "The Systems They Are A-Changin'," viewable
online here. Elliot Polak presented an overview of
"Quick Search" at WSU, and participated with Amelia Mowry (WSU) and Jeff

DALNET Systems Librarian Cathy Wolford. After
a DALNET Educational Forum, with guest speaker Margaret
Williamson, the day ended with a luncheon in the new offices of the
DALNET consortium.
DALNET Educational Forum Review
DALNET was excited to host our recent Educational Forum featuring
guest speaker Margaret Williamson, Executive Director of
Pro-Literacy Detroit. Attendees heard more information about
literacy
issues in the Detroit area and how individuals and institutions can get
involved with Pro-Literacy Detroit, including volunteering as a tutor
or offering library locations to be used as tutoring facilities.
For
more information check out the PLD website at: proliteracydetroit.org.
Or contact PLD if you are ready to volunteer at 313-872-7720 or info@proliteracydetroit.org.
