DALNET System Work Groups

After several meetings rounding out the end of October, System Work Groups are nearing completion of their charge and are intending to deliver a final report to the Board of Directors this month. The final report will include needs assessment survey results for which all member institutions contributed to. Work Groups were charged with developing a list of criteria for selecting a new system in the future. Participants anticipate receiving feedback from the Board including actions to move the investigation and selection process forward.

Detroit Public Library Digital Collections

The Detroit Public Library has launched a new site that features an all new portal for their digital collections. The Burton Historical Collection, Ernie Harwell Sports Collections, National Automotive History Collection, and others are now searchable from a single search box. This is the first time that many of these digital images and other objects have been accessible to the public online.

DALNET Is Growing Our Community

As we are planning for the future there has been no greater time than now to grow our community. The consortium is looking to expand our membership to new institutions and partners. Advertising, including this flyer, was first distributed at the Michigan Library Association meeting last month. Current members are invited to talk with colleagues at prospective member institutions to encourage new partnerships for DALNET.
