Cass Corridor Documentation Project
Wayne State University
A collection of oral histories created as part of a Wayne State
University Libraries project to document Cass Corridor culture during
the 1960s-1980s. The interviews were conducted by graduate students in
an oral history methods course within the Archives Program of the
WSU School of Library and Information Science.

April 15th Enterprise User Training
Members may send staff to attend an Enterprise User Training
session to immediately follow a brief Project Manager meeting on
Monday,
April 15, 2013. Participants will learn how to search Enterprise from a
patron's perspective, including searching, narrowing searches, creating
lists and sending text messages. The meeting and training
will take place at Wayne State University's Undergraduate Library's Lab
B on the second floor. Free parking is available at Detroit
Public Library's staff lot off of Putnam.
Scheduled Upgrades for ILS Services
| The DALNET office has scheduled a production Horizon ILS upgrade for the
morning of May 2, 2013. Horizon, HIP, and Enterprise will be updated
at that time. Staff client upgrades will be available as push clients.
Further information about the upgrade will be sent out to Project
Managers before the upgrade. Upgrade features include the addition of
SMS (text messaging) capability for circulation notices, RDA cataloging
updates and configurations for the system, and substantial upgrades to
the Enterprise discovery catalog. |
Retirement Well Wishes!
Congratulations to staff at DALNET member libraries that are retiring
in the first half of 2013! Bruce Bett, librarian, from Macomb
Community
College will retire on May 14, 2013 (also Laura Sidlek, librarian at
MCC, retired on Nov. 30, 2012). Cathy Eames, Director of Detroit
Medical Center Library Services, retired
March 29th. A retirement reception was held for Cathy at DMC on the
afternoon of the 29th. Mary Howarth, adjunct librarian at Oakland
Community College
will retire April 25th after over 23 years.
