Web Reporter Implementation

The DALNET office has started to roll out Web Reporter reports to members.  Staff are continuing to add more and more reports that will be automatically emailed to recipients on a regular basis.  Horizon monthly ad hoc reports will hopefully be phased out by June 1, 2012.  The DALNET staff would like to thank everyone for their patience as we work on the implementation project for this great new product.



Titanic 100th Anniversary




To observe the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic on April 15, 2012, the DALNET consortium has created a new digital project called "Titanic, 100 years: 1912-2012."  The project features contemporary 1912 news accounts of the disaster from newspapers around the world.  The purpose of the project was to organize access to freely accessible online primary print resources contemporary to the sinking of the R.M.S. Titanic on April 15, 1912.  Cataloging, research, and Web design was completed by Christopher Singleton, DALNET volunteer, and recent graduate of the Wayne State University School of Library and Information Science.  Steven Bowers and Kristy Wells will talk about the project at the Michigan Library Association's "Transitions in Collections" workshop on March 16, 2012 at the Novi Public Library.  The project site is at: titanic.dalnet.org



Titanic Exhibit at The Henry Ford





Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition debuts at The Henry Ford Museum on March 31, 2012 and runs through September 30, 2012.  The exhibition will be more than 10,000 square feet and feature more than 300 objects.
