DALNET Get It Local! Reciprocal Borrowing Stats
|
The office has posted Get It Local! Reciprocal Borrowing statistics for November
2012 on the DALNET member website. The report can be downloaded here [.xls file]. A statistics report will be generated monthly and posted on the DALNET member website here. You
will need to use your member web site log in to access the reports. |
Project Update: Enterprise Discovery Catalog
The
DALNET office has been hard at work, with SirsiDynix, configuring
the Enterprise implementation for DALNET members. Participating
libraries have submitted profile theme forms and SirsiDynix is busy
configuring each library's custom interface. The DALNET office
has been working on additional configurations including set up for
database connections to perform article searching through the
catalog. DALNET will be coming up on the latest release of
Enterprise, which includes features such as Text Messaging, Real-Time
Item Status, and next-generation catalog features. Members will
also be able to create custom "Rooms" of content. Stay tuned for additional configuration paperwork,
initial access, testing, and review in
the new year!
Member Libraries System Survey
A 10 question survey has been created to gather preliminary information
and input from members regarding current and future integrated library
systems. The online survey has been sent to all DALNET Project
Managers and they have been asked to consult with their Board Member
and other staff members to complete and submit the survey by January
11, 2012. The survey will be an initial step in beginning
planning for a future system migration so it is important that all
member institutions participate. |

Library Systems Overview
The DALNET office has once again produced an overview of library systems that are in release or development. Systems
are continuing to move toward unified platforms to manage all aspects
of library resource management, discovery, and delivery services.
Also of note, DALNET shared system members can look forward to the
release of an all-new Horizon Web-based Cataloging module in 2013, with
other modules to follow.

efforts are essential to accomplishing the work of the
consortium. Your continuing support and assistance allows us to
build an even better DALNET for the benefit of all members. Thank
you again for your fine service. Letters of thanks will be mailed
to individual volunteers during the month of December.
