Verification of Sybase 12.5 Installations
July 11: HIP/OPAC
Testing Begins - Members may test their catalogs and
provide input to the DALNET office.
July 18: HIP
Upgrade Test
Day - Register to give feedback in small groups.
July 23/24: Upgrade
Weekend - Public access catalog will be available /
Staff
access to Horizon will be unavailable. Circulation directions to
be distributed.
July 25: Horizon
Staff Client Upgrades - To be completed at member libraries on or
before
this date.
August: Post Upgrade
Tasks - guided by the DALNET office
Information and instructions on the dates and events listed above will
be distributed through Project Managers and DALNET listservs.
Members will begin HIP/OPAC testing for the upgrade on July 11th.
There will be a week of testing before the HIP Upgrade Test Day on July
18th
at the WSU Undergraduate Library, 3rd Floor Community Room. This
Testing
Day will replace the Project Manager's Meeting that was scheduled for
July. Attendees are asked to bring any questions or problems that
they've found during the first week of testing. The weekend of
July
23-24 is the target date for the production upgrade of
Horizon and HIP.
Wayne State University Hosts OCLC Member Program
On June 17, Steven K. Bowers,
Executive Director of DALNET, gave the closing keynote address at the
OCLC program “Good Practices for Great
Outcomes: Cataloging Efficiencies that Make a Difference.” Many
DALNET members attended the day-long event, hosted at Wayne State
University. OCLC has held a series of these member events which
explore new ways of working in cataloging and technical services.
An archive of event presentations is accessible
online.
Materials specific to the event held in Detroit will be posted at a
later date.
