Rochester College Receives DALNET Grant
Rochester College received an $8,000 DALNET Grant for their
“Stone-Campbell Churches of Michigan Collection” project. The grant will allow Rochester College to
organize archival materials in this collection and digitize a
representative portion to be made accessible online. Rochester College
library employees recently met with an archivist and will be working on the project this summer.
Upgrade Update for Horizon System
The
HIP Upgrade Task Force has submitted its recommendation document for
shared OPAC settings to the DALNET office. The document will be
sent to Project Managers for approval. In May, HIP Profile Forms
will be sent to Project Managers for each institution to complete for
the upgrade. New HIP OPACs will be constructed in May and members
can begin testing them at a meeting to be held on June 6. The
Fourth of July Weekend is the target date for the Production upgrade of
Horizon and HIP.
Authority Project Update
Loading of bibliographic records began on Friday, April 29. While
loading continues there is a moratorium on adding new bibliographic
records in batch import. When the loads are complete the ban on
cataloging will be lifted.
