Executive
Director Receives MLA Award of
Excellence
The Michigan Library Association Award of Excellence was presented to
DALNET Executive Director, Steven K. Bowers, on Wednesday October 26,
2011. Bowers Received the award at the MLA Annual Conference Awards
Dinner. The Award of Excellence is given to an individual recognized
for improving local library services, promoting library cooperation,
and contributing to professional activities.
DALNET QR Codes
The DALNET Office has created QR codes for individual member catalogs.
QR Codes are images that can be scanned by smartphones to take users to
online resources. Members are invited to add these codes to their
library web pages and/or print materials. Members may also want to make
their own codes for links to other resources. The codes are available
online, along with more information about QR Codes and how to create

Sandra Yee
to Chair OCLC Search Committee
With President and CEO Jay Jordan's announced retirement, OCLC has
formed an Executive Search Committee. Sandra Yee, Dean of the Wayne
State University Library System and President / Fiscal Agent of the
DALNET Board, has been appointed Chair of the OCLC search committee.
The Executive Search Committee recently announced the formation of a
Community Advisory Group which consists of thirteen people who will
provide input from varying perspectives.
