Meet the DALNET Staff: Elaine Hendriks
[May 10, 2002]
Coming to DALNET from a theater near you, This Week at DALNET presents our
secretary-office administrator Elaine Hendriks. Elaine joined the DALNET staff in
August of 2001. She previously served as a secretary for the Career Services Office at
the Law School.
Elaine has done a great job assuming this work from the equally capable Cindy
Zwolinski, Louise Bugg's secretary. Elaine has centralized DALNET's office
establishing procedures and record tracking for the DALNET staff. She has identified
creative new approaches to handling Listservs, minutes and day-to-day office demands.
Elaine has also spent considerable time investigating DALNET orders and establishing
relationships with vendors that have been slow to deliver in the past.
Elaine held a key role coordinating the recent relocation of DALNET staff. She ordered
and coordinated the delivery of furniture and supplies, as well as planned the relocation
of telephones and installation of new computer equipment. Elaine's careful attention to
detail was instrumental in our successful move.
Elaine plans to return to school and complete her bachelors' degree in Technical/Design
Theatre with an emphasis in Stage Management and then begin work towards her
Masters. She stays busy using her stage management skills around the country with
various theatres and The Trinity Academy Irish Dancers with whom she tours on the
weekends as their Stage Manager/Lighting Director. Elaine is an alumnus of The
Second City Detroit, where she Stage Managed as well as did the Lighting, Sound and
Properties Design for 5 of their reviews. She is the Production Stage Manager and
Corporate Theatre Coordinator for the Planet Ant Improv Colony. Some of the recent
shows she has worked with are; Annie Get Your Gun, The Foreigner, The Nerd, I Do! I
Do!, Always Patsy Cline, and Godspell.
If you were to ask Elaine, what is the most fulfilling part of this busy life, she would tell
you spending time with her fiancée, Dennis and his beautiful eight-year-old daughter,
Erin.
