Oakland County Library for the Visually and Physically Impaired
Dedicates Edward T. and Ellen K. Dryer Adaptive Computer Technology Lab

The Oakland County Library for the Visually and Physically Impaired dedicated the Edward T. and Ellen K. Dryer Adaptive Computer Technology Lab on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.

The lab features computers equipped with adaptive technology which allows visually impaired patrons to surf the internet, send email and use word processing programs. Patrons can print documents in Braille, large-print or regular type. The full-service lab, is the most advanced of its kind in the State of Michigan, and was funded by a grant from the Edward T. and Ellen K. Dryer Foundation. Attendees at the dedication were able to see demonstrations of the adaptive technology and enjoy refreshments.
