Digitization Projects

[January 22, 2003]
The research library of the Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village has announced the activation of their digitized exhibit- Photographer to the World. The exhibit features The Detroit Publishing Company a major image publisher during the years 1895-1924. Through the collaboration of the Electronic Services Committee (formerly the Information Hub Development Committee) several digital pilot projects were planned using the resources available within member institutions. The projects have been funded from a grant received from The Ameritech Foundation through the Friends of the Detroit Public Library. DALNET is committed to making digitized resources available to the widest possible audience. Each funded project is experimenting with standards that will serve to be key to system interoperability and the effective sharing of resources.

Under further construction is another of the pilot projects, The Dorothea June Grossbart Historic Costume Collection . The current site includes input guidelines, audio-visuals of the project preparation and other descriptive format information.
