The Detroit Area Library Network

Concordia University, Ann Arbor Joins DALNET

[July 2007]
The DALNET Board is pleased to announce the addition of new member Concordia University, Ann Arbor. After a couple of years running an integrated library system (ILS) in-house, CUAA has decided to partner with the DALNET community of libraries. DALNET director, Steven K. Bowers, is optimistic about the continued growth to the consortium. DALNET Board chair, Mary Ann Sheblé, has noted that CUAA will be a welcomed partner with much to offer the consortium. CUAA houses a collection of liberal arts, religion, and children’s materials in their Zimmerman Library building.

DALNET staff members have configured the consortium’s shared ILS for the addition of CUAA. DALNET’s lead applications technical analyst, George Marck, is currently working on loading CUAA’s MARC record collection, for staff and public access. The new CUAA online library catalog will continue to grow as records are loaded over the summer months. The new system will be in place for the fall semester.

Dean of the CUAA School of Education, Dennis Genig, is optimistic about the new educational partnerships that CUAA will form with DALNET members. Dan Burroughs, CIO of CUAA, is confident that DALNET will deliver the technical library services that the Zimmerman Library wishes to provide. Director of the Zimmerman Library, Brenda Burroughs, is encouraged that CUAA students will once again have online access to the library’s catalog. Search the New CUAA Library Catalog.
