Adams - Pratt Oakland County Law Library to Host University of Detroit Mercy School of Law Mobile Law Office (MLO)

[November 22, 2005]
Beginning on Wednesday, November 30, and also on Wednesdays, December 7, 14 and 21, the Adams - Pratt Oakland County Law Library will host free legal assistance clinics from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The program will resume on Wednesdays in January 2006, either weekly or bi-weekly, depending on visitor response to this program.

Legal assistance services are offered through the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law Mobile Law Office (MLO). Law professors, their students and volunteer attorneys will be available to answer questions about the law, help citizens to help themselves to resolve their legal issues, and make referrals to other agencies.

The MLO itself, a large converted recreational vehicle, brings legal assistance to locations where those services are most needed. Oakland County Law Library is just one of many spots in Oakland and Wayne County where the MLO serves the community nearly every day.

On Wednesdays the MLO van will park in the West parking lot on Oakland County's East campus. The clinic itself will be held in the Law Library, located on the second floor of the Oakland County courthouse, Building 14E, at 1200 N. Telegraph in Pontiac. Specific driving directions to the courthouse are available [Click Here]. Also, someone will be available in the MLO van to direct people to the Law Library.

For more information on the program itself, please call the law library at (248) 858-0012.
