Search Speeches

There are 7 ways to find information in this collection:

• search for particular words
• browse speeches and editorials by people
• browse speeches and editorials by organization
• browse speeches and editorials by subject
• browse speeches and editorials by keyword
• browse speeches and editorials by newspaper titles
• browse speeches and editorials by date

You can search for particular words that appear in a speech or editorial record from the "search" page. This can be reached by selecting the Search button. Keyword search will search all available fields, including speaker or author, newspaper title, subjects, keywords, organizations, and description. You may also limit your search to a selected fields by choosing 'people', 'organizations', or 'subjects' from the search drop down box. Go to 'Preferences' on the navigation bar to change your search preferences.

You can access speeches or editorials by last names of speakers or authors and people that are subjects of a speech, by selecting the People button. This brings up an alphabetical list of people by last name.

You can access speeches or editorials by names of organizations by selecting the Organizations button. This brings up an alphabetical list of organizations by name.

You can access speeches or editorials by subject by selecting the Subjects button. This brings up an alphabetical list of subjects.

You can access speeches or editorials by keyword by selecting the Keywords button. This brings up an alphabetical list of keywords.

You can access speeches or editorials by title of newspaper that published it by selecting the Newspapers button. This brings up an alphabetical list of newspapers by title.

You can access speeches or editorials by date published by selecting the Dates button. This brings up a list of all speeches sorted chronologically.
